Our Stones

About Our Stones

Two signature options, one standard of beauty

Desert Diamonds Jewelry offers two ways to achieve a high-end diamond look, depending on what matters most to you: value, certification, and long-term wear.

  • Signature Diamond Simulant: our core stone for affordable luxury and maximum sparkle.
  • Premium Lab-Grown Diamonds: genuine diamonds created with modern technology.

Signature Diamond Simulant

Our core collection stone

Our Signature Diamond Simulant is designed for strong brilliance and fire, delivering a luxury look at a more accessible price point.

Key facts

  • Hardness: 8.5 on the Mohs scale
  • High sparkle and strong fire
  • Excellent value for larger looks

Lifetime Guarantee (Signature Diamond Simulant)

We provide a lifetime guarantee on our Signature Diamond Simulant stones to retain their radiance under normal wear. If a stone loses brilliance or shows discoloration under normal wear, we will support replacement in line with our simulant guarantee terms.

Premium Lab-Grown Diamonds

Genuine diamonds, created with modern innovation

Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds. They have the same chemical composition and durability as mined diamonds and are graded using the same 4Cs (cut, color, clarity, carat).

Key facts

  • Hardness: 10 on the Mohs scale
  • Available in a wide range of shapes and sizes
  • Often available with a laboratory grading report for larger stones

CVD and HPHT explained simply

Lab-grown diamonds are commonly created using two methods:

  • CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition): grown in layers from a diamond seed in a controlled environment
  • HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature): grown under heat and pressure that replicates natural diamond formation

Both are genuine diamonds. The best choice is the one that fits your desired size, grade, and budget.

Certification and grading disclosure

Industry standard practice

In fine jewelry, it is standard practice that larger diamonds may be supplied with an individual laboratory grading report, while smaller accent stones are commonly supplied on a non-certified basis.

What this typically means

  • Diamonds under 0.50 carat are often not individually certified as a matter of course.
  • Small accent stones (side stones, pavé, melee, halo, and eternity-band stones) are commonly supplied without individual certificates unless specifically requested.
  • Independent certification for small stones can be costly and time-consuming, and is generally arranged only when contracted separately.

If you would like certification for stones that are typically supplied non-certified, please request this at the time of enquiry so we can advise feasibility, lead times, and costs.

Shapes and cuts

Cut quality is what creates sparkle

“Shape” describes the outline (round, oval, emerald, etc.). “Cut quality” describes the precision of the facets and finishing, which directly affects brilliance and fire.

Popular shapes
Round, oval, cushion, emerald, pear, princess, radiant, marquise, asscher, heart.

Understanding carat, size, and millimeters

Carat measures weight, but the look on the hand is best understood by millimeter dimensions (length/width/depth) and cut style.

If you’re choosing between options, we can guide you by mm size so you get the look you want.

Final summary and important warranty note

  • Signature Diamond Simulant is our best-value stone with a lifetime radiance guarantee under normal wear.
  • Premium Lab-Grown Diamonds are real diamonds with Mohs 10 hardness and optional certification depending on size.

Stone warranty exclusion (high-value stones): For natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, gemstones, pearls, and any other high-value stones, stones are not covered for replacement after the jewelry has been received and accepted. Clients should inspect stone security immediately upon receipt and arrange independent insurance if they want cover for loss or accidental damage.
